What the world needs now is another film blog.  Said nobody.  But the truth is?

I love movies.  I love powerful films.  I love goofy films.  I love important films.  I love geeky genre films.  Super-Hero films.  Comedies.  Tragedies.  And to tell the truth?  Horror and the general worlds of science fiction, fantasy and horror.

Here is the thing, I like to see something fantastic on the screen.  It can challenge my ideology, hopes and dreams…or it can just be goofy fun.  But the whole reason behind the name “Tripping Through Gateways” is the idea of a window to other worlds.

So, what do we do here?  Well, “we” is just “I”…but that is neither here nor there.  I review both older and newer films, and sometimes have themes for a week or month.  This is most obvious over the past Octobers.  This October will be no exception.

In fact, you will find that most of my reviews skew to “New on Blu-Ray/Netflix?/Hulu and so on.  This is all on my penny, so it will be influenced by what I have a chance to see in theaters, what I buy.  If I can to a movie opening weekend, I will.

Along with reviews, I plan to explore themes, trends and news.  That, I confess, may take a bit more of a geek bent.  I am a geek.  I like geeky things.

Finally?  I will frequently admit I am not great at writing reviews.  I am not under the illusion that I am brilliant or that I am on par with any of the folks I link to.  I want to be better…and the only way I can see pulling that miracle off is magic.

I mean… “keep writing”.
